Janet Burpee - Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Burpee is FSS’s CEO and is a co-inventor of the FlexStent Platform. She has been in the medical device industry for 20 years, has been a stent designer for 15 years and was a co-founder of Burpee Materials Technology (BMT), FSS’s parent company. Janet founded FSS in February 2006. She has successfully brought the company to its first ISO 13485 certification, and first 510(k) regulatory submission for its biliary stent system, and initiated clinical trials for its SFA/Popliteal stent system. Prior to starting FSS, Janet Burpee has been BMT’s CEO, primary inventor of new device technologies and acted as the first Quality Manager under whom BMT became an ISO 13485 certified company. She has designed a large variety of devices including balloon expandable and self-expanding stents, numerous valve structures, ostial devices and components and spinal implants for ruptured discs.
Bradley Beach - VP of Research and Development
Mr. Beach is a co-inventor on all patents related to the Flexible Stent and Helical Stent platforms. He has led the design of the SFA/POP FLEXIBLE Stent and delivery system through Feasibility and into Design Freeze. In addition to supporting all of FSS’s final testing and regulatory submissions, Brad lead’s a group which is currently designing the SFA/POP and biliary reconstrainable stent system and a three French tibial stent system. At BMT, Brad led the contract development team since 2005 in projects designing a number of novel stent-like medical devices. Prior to joining BMT, Brad led new product development of component and services for the wafer fabrication industry as Director of Engineering at MEC Tech. This development included custom equipment and service solutions for all major IC/Wafer fabricators. Throughout his career, Brad has demonstrated his ability to apply technical acumen to fill market and customer needs through the development of innovative products.
Joseph C. Griffin, III - VP Regulatory Affairs/Quality Assurance
Mr. Griffin has over 25 years experience in the design, development, regulatory compliance and manufacture of numerous leading-edge cardiovascular devices. He is an inventor and co-inventor of 15 medical device related US Patents. Joe founded Professional Catheter Corporation, the predecessor to ProCath Corporation, as named upon acquisition by EP MedSystems Inc., now St. Jude Medical. He has extensive new venture, acquisition and IPO experience.
